If you run a bar, cafe or other hospitality based business, you should consider using an upright glass washer to free up time for your staff. Upright washers are specifically designed machines that can clean glasses in a matter of seconds, scrubbing the inside and outside of the glass simultaneously with upright brushes. Each brush can be changed depending on the shape of the glass to be cleaned, with brushes for cleaning pint glasses, slim line glasses, and even coffee pots! In comparison to industrial glass washers, they have the best cleaning power since the brushes are in constant contact with the sides of the glass. They are normally installed in a kitchen sink, and they come in a variety of versions. Electric glass washers can be broken down into 3 different types. They all plug into a normal wall socket, with no plumbing required.
- The first type sits in the sink, with the base (sometimes known as a splashguard) sitting at the bottom. The brushes are powered by an electric motor, which sits atop a long column extending up from the base. This will sit well above the water line when the sink is filled. The majority of electric washers are of this type.
- There are also submersible glass washers available where the electric motor sits beside the brushes in a waterproof case. These models are better able to keep the water temperature hot while washing.
- Finally, there are bar top electric washers that are designed to give a glass a quick clean to get rid of stubborn stains before being washed in a normal sink. These are quite rare, and are normally only found in bars.
– There are also manual glass washers available; these have suction cups at the base which can be utilized on any surface (normally the kitchen sink basin). With a manual washer, the glass is twisted by hand through the brushes. While not as effective as an electric washer, they still clean a glass thoroughly.
Each type of glass washer is great for quickly cleaning any item of glassware. They can really reduce the amount of time spent washing kitchenware, since cleaning glasses by hand is normally one of the most time consuming tasks for bar and kitchen staff. If you want your staff to be able to focus on more productive activities, such as attending to customers, instead of continually washing glasses, you should consider investing in a glass washer!
