Buying a commercial glass washer can be a difficult choice to make, since there are so many different makes and models on the market today. The first step is to factor in your budget, since the price range can vary greatly depending on the size and features included. Once you have done this, question yourself about the purpose of the washer. Will it be used in the kitchen area or the front bar? How many glasses will my business need to clean per hour? There are specific models that are designed for each purpose. Finally, start to consider which of the additional features you really need.

All commercial dishwashers work on the principle of heating up the internal temperature so that it is such that it sanitises the glasses. Regulations state that the temperature must reach 180ºF for this to take place. So no matter what the make, you can be sure that the glasses will be fully cleaned.
The capacity of a glass washer is something to consider. Washers are rated at the number of full racks they can clean per hour. A good value to look for is at least 22 racks, which would mean at least 350 glasses, more or less, depending on the size. If you are a big operation, look closely at this number before buying.
Additional features that are increasingly seen today include cold rinse cycles and cutlery trays. A cold rinse cycle prevents the glasses leaving the glass washer from coming out still warm – a great solution for when a bar is so busy that there is a real chance that glasses don’t have enough time to cool properly before being reused.

Different sizes are available, and there are specific types for bars. Glass washers for bars are typically smaller, but they look a little bit fancier since they are often customer facing.

Commercial and industrial glass washers are essential when you are running a business catering to the pub or restaurant industry. They free up a lot of time that lets staff do other important tasks, such as attending to customers. Fully research your needs before buying a glass washer, and you can’t go wrong with your decision.

If you are considering adding a bar fridge to your commercial kitchen space or bar there are a few things to consider. There are several different components to bar fridges and before you just any old bar fridge at random these aspects should be considered in terms of how they will fit within the bar and what you will be using the fridges for.

Size
Bar fridges come in many different sizes from very small to very large and the size of a bar fridge can even be custom. It is important to consider what will be stored in the fridge and how much traffic the bar will be getting. If you are using the bar fridge to store beers you will have to consider how many beers you typically go through in one night and how often you want to refill the fridge. If you opt for a smaller fridge you always have the option of refilling it throughout the night but this can pose a problem if the bar is busy. It may be better to opt for a larger fridge than a smaller one because even if the fridge is over filled with beers you will not have to do as much refilling of the bar on a busy night.

Accessibility
One of the most important point to consider about the fridge is the accessibility of it. There are fridges that open with a front swinging door, fridges that open from the top with a hinged door, fridges that open from the top with a sliding door, and drawer fridges that can be pulled open like a drawer on a dresser. You should consider how often you will be using the fridge and how it will fit into your bar. If you are using the fridge to store a few bottles of extra OJ for mixed drinks than you may only need a small fridge with a front swinging door but if you are using the bar fridge to stock all of the beers for the night it may be better to use a bar fridge with a top sliding door fridge so the bar tender does not have to bend down or open a huge obstructing door in order to grab a beer. It also helps if the door is clear so the bar tender can easily note what needs to be refilled inside of the fridge.

Placement
You should also consider where the bar fridge will be placed in the bar before you order it. Bar fridges come in many sizes and shapes so you should figure out where you want the fridge to go and measure the dimensions of the area first, and then find a fridge that matches the size of the space that you have for it. If it is becoming difficult to find a standard sized fridge to fit the dimensions of the space you may want to consider custom ordering a fridge that will fit the space in your bar.

Getting toasted at six in the morning isn’t easy and you need to have the right equipment. Choosing a commercial toaster requires thinking about where your business is today and where you plan to take it in the future. A few things you want to keep in mind, when deciding what is right for your business, are the type of items you are toasting, the volume you will need to produce per hour during peak business and your budget.

Whether your preference in commercial toasters is pop-up or conveyor, you will need to look at the items you will be toasting most of the time. Pop-ups typically come in either standard size slots that toast on both sides or wide slots that toast on one side for bagels and English muffins. It is also possible to find four slot toasters that have two slots of each size with the standard slots toasting two sides and the wide slots toasting one side.

Most conveyor style toasters, toast on two sides but you can find ones that give you the option of one-sided toasting. Conveyor toasters can be top load, vertical or horizontal. With a continuous feed process and a warming tray on many models, conveyor toasters may provide a little more flexibility in a busy kitchen.

Most commercial pop-up toasters are going to be in the 250 to 400 pieces per hour range. This will vary depending on one-sided or two-sided toasting. Another variable is the input voltage. If you are using 208/240, it can up your production from 20% to 25%.

This is not to say that you can’t up the ante if your business needs require more production. Standard top load conveyor toasters have a similar capacity to pop-up toasters. Vertical toasters have the capability to produce up to 1,000 pieces per hour.

If your specialty is high volume toasted sandwiches, you may want to think about a high speed (variable speed) conveyor system (right out of the Tim the Tool Man Handbook!). These units are also used for pizzas, bagels and a myriad of appetizers. While their production can be big, they also require special electrical and ventilation needs.

As you might expect, production levels, along with the whistles and bells, can vary dramatically depending on the budget. A basic low production commercial pop-up toaster can cost as little as under $100, or, as with anything else in life, you can pay as much as you want. As a general rule, conveyor toasters will be more than pop-toasters and quality is always worth paying a little more. The key is to know your production needs, calculate your return on investment and always think quality. Whistles and bells may be nice, but they typically don’t add to the bottom line.

Buying a commercial toaster may seem like a small item in the grand scheme of things, but when it is your livelihood, you need to do your homework. Make sure you have room to grow without breaking the bank and that the commercial toaster you choose will do the job for years to come.

If you or your company has been considering the purchase of quality and durable beer fridges, the market couldn’t better at this time. They have grown in popularity and usefulness over the last couple of years and have become household items for families and businesses alike. Plus, it is equipment which makes for great return on your investment. However, when it comes to purchasing them there are a few things to take into consideration.

Fridge Variations and Benefits

Various types of fridges are available on the market for commercial use. These fridges are being found primarily in grocery stores, bars and restaurants. Some are built undercounter while others can be conveniently place in the perfect location of your business. You have the option of also choosing from the freestanding ones and those that can even be placed outdoors. Plus, there are display type fridges that are commonly used in the aforementioned places as well.

Deciding on Proper Size

Deciding on the proper size fridge for your services is important for commercial use. This is important considering beer fridges come in variety of shapes and sizes. Plus, this will make a difference if you plan on servicing either bottles, cans or both from the fridge. The average beer fridge is approximately 2cu.ft or larger and if you know your measurements, 2-3 cubic feet is a lot of room for either cans or bottles, based upon the style.

Pricing

How much are you willing to spend for a particular beer fridge? On average, a small, dorm-like size fridge, don’t come with very many variation in pricing from one brand to another, but it’s never a bad idea to shop around. If you are in the market for commercial use fridges then expect to pay a commercial size price; however, don’t forget the option of sponsoring a company’s brand beer to take advantage of acquiring a “free” fridge. Many companies that are manufacturing and sponsoring these fridges will allow you to have them for “free” if an agreement is made to sponsor, advertise and/or promote their product from the fridge.

Shelves

Many of these fridges come with removable shelves, which make for easy cleaning. This is also a handy acquisition in the event you decide to chill something a little larger than the average bottle or canned beer.

These are just a few things to take into consideration before purchasing a commercialize beer fridge. The maximum cooling temperature settings, the operating sound and warranties are also worth noting when making this type of investment. It doesn’t pay to purchase something only to have it break down in a matter of weeks or months, with no recourse. If you purchase it brand new, this problem is eliminated.

There is nothing like an ice-cold draught beer on a hot summer day. Bottled beer, while refreshing, does not have the same flavor and appeal as draught beer for the increasing beer cognoscenti market. For a proprietor of a bar or restaurant this can translate into higher profits and a broader array of customers. Anyone who has worked in the bar and restaurant industry knows that while customer demand for draught beer is increasing, poor system design can be a nightmare to work with. There are three keys to success to setting up a successful kegging system: access to beer kegs, proper flow rate to the draught and temperature control along the way.

Trendy restaurant and bar designers tend to forget the adage “form follows function” and try to attract customers through their own aesthetic approach while forgetting about the poor barman who must lug the 130lb. kegs from the walk-in refrigerator in the back of the kitchen to the bar at the restaurant’s entrance. When planning a kegging system, it is imperative to use forethought in determining how many draught beers fit your restaurant or bar’s concept and allow for enough refrigerated space for at least twice as many kegs as there are beer selections- there is no bigger turn off for a beer aficionado than having the last of his favorite beer belch out from the tap in a frothy mess and having to apologetically ask her to select another because there is not a properly chilled back-up keg available.

Like systolic blood pressure, draught beer is optimally poured at 120 ounces per minute. It is imperative to know what pressure the brewer recommends for each beer on tap and utilize the line’s choking system to optimize the flow. Every beer style has an optimum level of carbon dioxide and therefore needs to be stored at the right level. This variation must be considered when the beer is transferred from the keg to the draught. There is no table for this exchange; rather the best approach is to use the line system’s choking system to regulate the rate. Just like calibrating an espresso machine to a perfect 18 second pull, the 120 ounces per minute is the ideal and once that is maintained, try to always have similar beer styles on the same lines at all times for maximum functionality.

Like wine, beer styles vary for appropriate temperatures. Lighter, hoppier, or more acidic beer styles are best served at just over freezing temperatures, whereas higher alcohol ales can be much more appealing 10 to 15 degrees higher. Again, this requires forethought. There are dual temperature refrigeration systems that can be used for this purpose.

Space, flow rate and temperature are the three keys to successful kegging systems. Focusing on those three keys can increase customer satisfaction while saving money in the long run on the single biggest line item expense for the food and beverage industry- labor. More importantly, happy bartenders make happy customers.

Keg coolers – Some simple tips about buying one

Along with food and drinks, a professional bar needs to take into consideration some of the latest technologies when it comes to serving its customers in a fashionable and professional manner and therefore, buying a keg cooler can be considered to be a very good investment as there are some very efficient and easy to use beer coolers which will make the work of serving chilled beer to your customers a simple and easy task.

Different kinds of coolers

A table top counter keg cooler is very practical and economical as well. This refrigerator can serve about 5 litres of draft beer and it can easily be transported from one area to another area of your bar. However, these models are more commonly used by party goers rather than by bar owners due to the capacity of the machines.

You can also find the portable beer cooler which is something in between the mini cooler and the professional cooler, but you must definitely check the specifications and the features of this cool machine which comes in a stainless steel finish and it has the capacity to fit half keg and it can easily be moved around as it comes with wheels. Depending on the kind of cooler and the size that you are looking for, this could be considered to be a very good choice.

A professional keg cooler will definitely meet all the requirements that you need as the owner of a public establishment and there are some very good models from Edgestar or Summit which you should definitely look into and choose accordingly. You can find a professional cooler from a price range in between $ 500 and $ 2000 depending on the brand and the features they come with and what you really require.
Importance of buying a cooler with a good warranty

Looking for a cheap cooler for your establishment may not be the best option in case you are not getting the proper guarantee for the cooler in the first place. It is important to note that some of the parts of these coolers need to be replaced on regular basis and if your purchase does not have a guarantee which will allow for parts to be changed, it may turn out to be a more expensive investment in the long run.
Safety and security

Depending on the flow of customers and the size of your establishment, it is important for you to make sure you have the right kind of equipment which is going to make things easier for you and for those that come to have a drink at your place on regular basis. Looking into whether you want to have hinged doors or sliding doors and whether there is a locking system or not are all part of the requirements you will need to take into consideration when thinking about buying the right kind of cooler for your bar or coffee shop.

Using a blast freezer is a good idea to help reduce the amount of bacteria in environments where food is. Because bacteria loves to grow in dark most areas (with temperatures in between 46F and 154F), it can represent a danger to food. Since food is cooked in temperatures at 158F and 37F, the food will always be in danger of being corrupted by bacteria and micro-organisms. This can represent as a danger to your customers. If you own a restaurant change or a healthcare facility that serves food, it is best to use a method to kill the bacteria in the area. A blast freezer is a fridge with an automatic defrost.

Reduce Bacteria Organisms

Once bacteria is exposed to food, and even other surfaces, it can be hard to get rid of. Chillers are able to reduce the temperature of food to reduce or eliminate bacteria growth. It is a powerful and effective piece of equipment and usually come with three shelves to support pans.

What Causes The Chilling

Chill temperatures are made effective by high density insulation material called polyurethane. The probe feature actually measures the temperature of the food to make sure it is safe for your customers for consumption. Consumers often find using this type of device as easy and convenient. Most of the settings are automatic and require little to no manual labor on the consumer’s part. The freezer can also work for uncooked and cooked meals.

How a Blast Freezer Actually Helps Your Business

As noted before, using this type of equipment decreases the chance for food poisoning. The reputation of a business is usually established by ‘word-of-mouth’. All it takes is one customer to say they got sick after eating at your restaurant, which is bad for business. Business owners will be assured that customers will receive food that is free from bacteria.

What Are The Automatic Features?

Most food chillers come with automatic features, which means the business owner will not have to stop serving their customers to constantly attend to the device. An inside temperature probe will exert temperatures of 194F to 37F in a ninety minute chilling cycle. The device also comes with monoblock construction and is made from stainless steel. Stainless steel lasts longer and is scratch and damage resistant.

As a business owner of a restaurant, or any other business that serves food, it is important to protect your consumers and customers. You want to keep them happy so that you can receive more customers and make more revenue. If a business owner receive too many health violations, they can be shut down by the health department. This can be horrible for an entrepreneur who has spent their time and devotion to building a business that they love and find lucrative. It is also important to follow the environment safety measures that are set forth by the state your restaurant resides in. It is better to get control of bacteria before it becomes a bigger problem then it should have been.

Ice is something that everyone enjoys having on a typical day. People like to sip on a nice, cool, iced beverage.

When in the market for a commercial ice machine for a business there are a few different things that are looked into in order to find the perfect one. One of the first things that people think about is the cost of the machine. Sometimes the saying, “You get what you pay for” is true. Sometimes people should go with the more expensive brands if that means having a quality machine. After all, the goal is to not have to replace it for a long time There are certain ice machines that sanitize the water in less than an hour and also ones that have the government standard seal. The ice machines that have the seal are some of the best ice makers that anyone could ever purchase. Another thing to think about is what shaped cubes are important. Depending upon what the main use of the ice machine will be, will determine which one is purchased.

The maintenance of the commercial ice machine is highly important. Some ice machines does most of the cleaning itself; however, a person still needs to clean the overall unit. Many people want a stylish kitchen because they will spend a large amount of time in there. Commercial ice machines come in a various amount of styles that are each different. Before purchasing the ice machine, a warranty must be put into place. This protects the buyer if the ice machine does not produce great results or stops working for any reason.

A bar fridge is great for those who want to store a small amount of items. This product is usually popular with college students and sandwich shops who offer cool beverages to their customers. There are a lot of options available for this particular product, however, there are some features that a person should pay attention to to make a good investment:

Capacity

When looking for a quality bar fridge, the first thing to do is to determine how much capacity is needed. Do you have a lot of products that need to be stored, or only a few? Most bar fridges are able to hold up to 80 cans of beverages or they might have wine racks to hold extra items.

The type of Fridge Needed

Some fridges are created to hold items for beverages only, while others are made to hold all types of groceries such as bread, fruits, etc. The consumer will need to understand their own needs before investing in a fridge.

Automatic Defrost Features

Most bar fridges come with a cycle defrost feature that is usually automatic. Most of the higher-end fridges offer this feature. Automatic defrosters are easier to manage when the fridge needs to be cleaned or stored away. Defrosting can be done without any manual input from the consumer.

Assembly Requirements

Most fridges (bar) requires no assembly, however, consumers should be wary of manufacturers who want them to construct the fridge themeselves. It is not recommended to put together an electrical device unless you are a certified electrician or has had extreme experience in the past doing so. The level of difficulty is high for those who have to build their own fridge.

Energy efficiency

It is essential for any electronic device to be energy efficiency. Consumers spend millions of dollars each year for utility bills that could have been reduced by using certain products. Asking a sales representative or looking on the package of the fridge will allow you to know the energy efficiency grading. Product that have a grade A for energy efficiency will usually save you hundreds on your utility bill.

Material Used For Construction

The type of material used for the construction of the bar fridge is very important. Most of the time, it will be made from aluminum or stainless steel. Stainless steel is able to provide a protective coating which can shield against cuts, nicks and other damages. It also lasts longer than other material and can save the consumer money from having to buy another one because of cosmetic damages.

Finding a quality fridge (bar) is all about looking at the material used for construction, costs, capacity and energy efficiency. Consumers should be able to know what the energy efficiency grading is by asking a sales representative or looking on the package. Consumers should also make sure it has the amount of capacity needed to hold their items. As noted before, most small fridges are able to hold 80-110 cans (if the fridge is meant to be for small cans and/or beverages only).
